Florida League of Mayor's Essay Challenge

The Florida League of Mayors and the Florida League of Cities is offering an exciting essay contest for Florida’s sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
The contest focuses on Home Rule and the issues in your municipality that may be related to local self-governance.
This essay contest is a great exercise for middle schoolers and an opportunity for them to learn more about local government and possibly win a gift card in the process!
First Place Prize -- $1,000
Second Place Prize -- $500
Third Place Prize -- $250
You can visit the Florida League of Mayors website at floridamayors.org (or click here) for educational resources related to municipal government and Home Rule.
The deadline for essay submittal is January 31, 2025, so a quick response time is essential.
